カラマタオリーブ。ペロポネソス半島南のカラマタの品種で、とってもメジャーな品種です。

持ち運びには便利だけど、袋の中に汁(Brine)が結構入ってるので、一回開けたら取り扱い注意。また、一度あけると密封できません。
お漬物はやっぱり塩分高いです。
２つのオリーブを食べ比べてみました。
カラマタオリーブ
- タイム／ハーブの風味がついている
- ちょっと苦味があります。この苦味がちょっと気になる
- Brineがたくさん入ってるのに、なぜかしょぼっとしててぷりぷり感が足りません
- カラマタオリーブの方がオイリーです
マンサニージャオリーブ
- Brineがほとんど入ってないので取り扱いやすい
- もちもちしてて、ぷりぷりこりこりみずみずしい
- カラマタオリーブよりも小粒
- 味はストレートに基本塩とオリーブのみ
食べ比べると、私はグリーンオリーブ/マンサニージャオリーブの方が好きかな。
あっ、でも選択の余地がなければどっちでもOK、両方とも食べます（笑）。
Trader Joe’s Just a Handful of Pitted Salted Kalamata Olivesの得点は、100点中80点。グリーンオリーブのほうが好きなので、グリーンオリーブをリピします。でも、オリーブ好きな次男はブラックオリーブの方が好みだそうなので、個人の好みでどちらでもという感じでした。

I like snacking salty olives so I like them both. But if I have to pick one of them, I would pick the green ones anyday. First of all, the green olives taste simply better than the balck ver. Also the green olive’s texture is more buttery and plumpy than the somewhat dried tired looking black ver. Plus, the green olives version is packed with almost no brine, on the other hand the black ver has some brine in the package so it is more likely to make a mess. Overall they are a nice snack to have on hand. Sometimes it is hard to stop at one bag. Score is 8/10.
